Health and Safety

How can you protect your hearing during rehearsals?
You can protect your hearing by not playing too loud, while you are rehearsing think about moderation on how loud you play, another way to protect your hearing during rehearsals is to wear earphones or earplugs to protect your ears and not blow your eardrums.

How can a mixture of repertoire (quiet and loud songs) help protect your hearing?
A mixture of repertoire can help protect your hearing because if you play at different volumes your ears will adjust to the different levels of volume.

Should you rehearse with loud or quiet sound levels? Why?
You should rehearse with quiet sound levels because it will protect your hearing and will not expose you to loud music, also if you play really loud it will most likely cause you to get stressed which will ruin the rehearsal.

How much time out (silent time) should you have during your rehearsals? Why?
You should have at least a 10 minute time out during your rehearsals because it is enough time to regain composure from all the music you have been playing as too much noise will cause you to get stressed out.

Describe a suitable venue for rehearsals, why is it suitable?
A suitable venue for rehearsals would be a big room with a high ceiling preferably a hall because it will give you and your band enough space to rehearse in and the acoustics in the room would be better than a small room with a low ceiling.
